Last night was a proud moment for all customers and those associated with The Hanley Economic. We were invited along to the DMH Corporate Awards where we were presented with a platinum award for our fundraising efforts.
Throughout the year we’ve seen everyone rolling their sleeves up and rallying around to help raise over £37k for this amazing cause. This has skyrocketed our overall fundraising to over of £90,000 over the past 4 years.
Our fundraising spans some years with continuing success. In 2013, the ‘DMH Saver’ account was introduced, inviting customers to open an Instant Savings Account whereby we made a donation on behalf of the customer to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice equivalent to 0.5% of the average yearly balance of each account opened. The DMH Account it still going strong and now has over 550 open accounts.
Since our customers voted for Dougie Mac they really have gone above and beyond to raise money for the Hospice.
David Lownds, Head of Operations commented “We are delighted to receive a platinum award for our fundraising efforts during the past 12 months. As a local building society owned by our customers supporting the community is in our DNA. I would like to say a big thank you to all staff and customers who have supported this great local cause and encourage all local businesses to consider the Dougie Mac as their nominated local charity in 2017.”
