Introducing David Lownds - Head of Risk

David joined The Hanley in 1994 as a University graduate after achieving a 2:1 honours degree in Information Systems.

Initially working as an application developer in the IT Department, David progressed through the ranks of the business reaching executive level in 2003 aged just 31. David’s key responsibilities as Head of Risk are Lending, Retail Savings, Marketing & E-Commerce.

"My role at The Hanley combines the management of a number of Operational business functions together with overseeing Risk within the Society. I find my role extremely challenging and very rewarding. It is often said as cliché, but I can honestly say that 2 days are never the same."

Outside of work David is keen sports enthusiast and enjoys long distance running and 5-a-side football.
