Discount Mortgage
A Discounted rate mortgage offers a reduced interest rate for a fixed period of time, usually around two to three years. The discount is a specified percentage off the lender’s variable rate. If the lender’s interest rates increase, so will the rate of the discounted mortgage, although it will still be lower than the standard variable rate. There will almost always be early repayment charges associated with this type of mortgage.
