Introducing Matt Nelson - IT Administrator

Matt joined the Society in 1987 as a Printing & Microfilm Clerk. He has worked in several area's over the years and is currently working as an IT Administrator.

“My day often starts by preparing the computer systems making sure that they are ready for all the staff to use before 9.00 am.

A major part of my role is to support the IT helpdesk. The helpdesk supports over 70 users and logs a variety of technical issues which need to be resolved within agreed service levels.

I also carry out software testing, producing documentation and carrying out training to support a plus one customer service offered by the Society.

The day ends with closing down the systems. I enjoy the variety and challenges I face every day. ”

Outside of work Matt enjoys spending time with his family, gardening and horse riding.
