Working with Local Schools

For a number of years The Hanley has sponsored educational awards and competitions for a number of schools in North Staffordshire including the yearly maths quiz held at the Sixth Forum College for children aged 11 to 16 now entering it's 21st year.

We also support work placements students who are studying for their Business Management (BA Honours) degree.


Tom Sayle and Laura Hart joined us in June 2007 to work in the Marketing Department during their gap years from Staffordshire University to further their experience.

Working with Abbey Hill School has been a pleasure. The special needs students have visited us to again and again to gain an insight into the workings of a building society and we in turn have seen them in action at their school and at their Living and Working Week at Stanley Head.

Glitter Bins

This year The Hanley has worked in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council sponsoring a number of local schools who have designed posters to be placed onto litter bins at each school.

We sponsored the pupils of Hollywall Primary, Forest Park Primary, St Margaret's Primary, St Peter's Primary and Whitfield Valley Primary.

Tree Planting

This year The Hanley was proud to work with St. Thomas CE(A) Primary School in Kidsgrove on their tree planting project.
