Hanley Economic Building Society has once again, been recognised as a great place to work!
On 19th November, local businesses joined to watch the virtual Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards – which celebrates business from all around the region and their achievements that year.
We spoke to our Head of HR, Deborah Henry about why this award and being recognised as a great place to work is important to the Society…
What does this award mean for you?
“Our aim is to make Hanley Economic a fantastic place to work and we continually work on making this happen, we never stand still and want to be constantly evolving. As an employer within Staffordshire, to receive the recognition of our local Chambers of Commerce is something we are very proud of.”
How do you maintain local talent?
“Engaging with each individual team member is crucial to retaining our talent. We value our team members and aim to ensure a culture of appreciation where they feel valued individually and are recognised for their efforts and performance. We are also very proud to be listed in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For Lists with Three Star accreditation, which shows we have extraordinary levels of engagement with our staff.”
What impact has the ongoing pandemic had?
“We focus on the future, our staff believe Hanley Economic is a fantastic place to work and we are committed to future proofing the Society for the next generation of staff and customers. Our leaders are aware of future challenges we face and consciously develop their own capabilities and this year has been particularly difficult due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. However, we have continually assessed the needs of our staff and put their health and well-being at the forefront of every decision we have made.”
