Underwriting & Completions Administrator (Full Time 35 hours per week)
Purpose of Role
As a fulltime, permanent Underwriting & Completions Administrator, you will provide high-quality administrative support throughout the mortgage lifecycle from application submission to completion ensuring smooth processing, accurate documentation, and excellent communication with intermediaries and solicitors in line with the Society’s procedures and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Application Processing
- Accurately input and maintain mortgage application data in workflow systems.
- Collate and verify required documentation (e.g., ID, income evidence, valuations) for underwriting review.
- Prepare and issue clear instructions for missing information to intermediaries and solicitors.
- Monitor application progress and update internal systems promptly.
Completions Administration
- Liaise with solicitors and intermediaries to ensure timely completion of mortgage cases.
- Review title reports and confirm all conditions are satisfied before completion.
- Process invoices (e.g., valuations, solicitors) and maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage team mailbox and respond to queries efficiently.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all documentation and data handling complies with GDPR and Society policies.
- Adhere to FCA Conduct Rules and Financial Crime Policy, reporting any suspicious activity as required.
- Complete mandatory training on data protection and financial crime annually.
Team Support & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to team meetings and assist with process improvements.
- Support new product launches

Person Specs
Essential
- Minimum of GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above.
- Excellent numerical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office platforms
- CeMap qualified (or be prepared to study for this)
Desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of the mortgage market, including residential, shared ownership, self-build, RIO and buy-to-let mortgages
- Underwriter or post offer/completions experience
- Understanding of the Legal process regarding the completion of a mortgage application
- Experience of working with intermediaries, solicitors and direct customers is ideal
