At Hanley Economic Building Society, we're passionate about supporting our communities and helping people build brighter futures. That's why we developed Building Financial Futures, an educational programme designed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.

What is Building Financial Futures?

Building Financial Futures is our dedicated financial education and careers engagement programme, created to help students develop a stronger understanding of money management, financial wellbeing and future career opportunities.

While financial decisions are a part of everyday life, many young people leave education without the practical knowledge needed to manage their finances confidently. Our programme aims to bridge that gap by providing engaging, interactive sessions delivered directly within schools, colleges and community organisations.

Through Building Financial Futures, we help students understand real-life financial topics while encouraging them to think about their future goals, careers and aspirations.

Why We Created the Programme

Financial education is an important life skill, yet it isn't always covered in depth within traditional education settings. We recognised an opportunity to support young people by sharing practical knowledge that can help them:

  • Develop healthy financial habits.
  • Understand budgeting and saving.
  • Build confidence in managing money.
  • Learn about financial products and services.
  • Explore career opportunities and pathways.
  • Prepare for key financial decisions they may face in adulthood.

Our goal is simple: to help young people feel more informed, empowered and prepared for their financial future.

What We Deliver

Building Financial Futures offers a range of flexible sessions that can be tailored to the needs and age group of participants.
