At Hanley Economic Building Society, we're proud to support our local communities and, this year, we're once again acting as a collection and drop-off point for the WorldGive shoebox appeal.

Through this initiative, local children who may be facing difficult circumstances will receive a special gift box filled with thoughtful items donated by people in our community. These boxes are designed to bring joy, comfort and a reminder that someone cares, particularly during the festive season.

What is the WorldGive Shoebox Appeal?

The WorldGive shoebox appeal encourages individuals, families, schools and businesses to fill a shoebox with gifts and essential items for children in need. Each box is packed with kindness, containing a variety of age-appropriate items such as toys, stationery, books, toiletries and treats.

The appeal aims to support local children, ensuring that gifts donated by the community remain within the local area and reach those who need them most.

How Can You Get Involved?

Taking part is simple:

Visit your nearest Hanley branch or nearest collection point and pick up an empty shoebox.
Fill the box with suitable gifts for a child.
Return the completed box to any of our branches or nearest drop off point before the appeal deadline. (30th November)
WorldGive will then distribute the boxes to local children and families.

For a full list of collection and drop-off locations, visit the WorldGive Locations page.

Making a Difference Locally

Small acts of kindness can have a big impact. For many children, receiving a shoebox full of gifts can brighten their day and help create positive memories during the festive season.

By supporting this appeal, you're helping ensure that local children feel valued, remembered and supported by the community around them.
