Interest Rate Update - August 2025

The Society continually monitors interest rates on its range of mortgage and savings products to ensure they are competitive and sustainable.

Following the 0.25% reduction in the Bank of England base rate announced on 7 August 2025 to 4.00%, members who either have a mortgage or savings product which is directly linked to the Bank of England base rate will see their rate reduce to reflect the reduction on 1 September 2025. Borrowers with a tracker-based mortgage or savings account will be personally notified of the change by letter or email ahead of 1 September 2025.

From 1 October 2025, the Society will reduce its Standard Variable Rate (SVR) mortgage from 7.99% to 7.84%. Borrowers with a mortgage product linked to SVR will see a corresponding reduction in their monthly payments from 1 October 2025. In addition, our variable retail savings rates will decrease by an average of 0.25%, also effective from 1 October 2025.

A list of the new variable rates will be published on our website and in our branches prior to the 1 October 2025. Savers with a variable rate account will be personally notified of the change 14 days prior to the 1 October 2025 by letter or email.

Borrowers with a mortgage linked to SVR will receive a letter detailing their revised monthly payment from 1 October 2025.
