At Hanley Economic Building Society, supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re proud to announce that £28,907 has been awarded to seven outstanding local charities through the latest round of our Hanley at Home Fund.
This initiative, delivered in partnership with the Community Foundation for Staffordshire and Shropshire, is designed to help people at all stages of their housing journey—whether they’re preparing to move into a home or working to stay in one comfortably and independently.
Continued Commitment to the Community
The Hanley at Home Fund was originally launched in April 2024 and relaunched on April 1, 2025, with applications closing on June 1, 2025. This year’s round allowed organisations to apply for grants of up to £5,000, and we’re delighted to share the list of recipients:
- Age UK Stafford & District
- Katharine House Hospice
- Staffordshire Sight Loss Association
- Symmetrical North Staffs
- Walk Ministries
- Number 11
- Disability Solutions West Midlands
Each of these charities plays a vital role in supporting people across Staffordshire and Shropshire—from older adults and individuals with disabilities to those overcoming homelessness, health challenges, or difficult life transitions. The funding will help deliver essential services such as financial education, life skills training, and support for independent living.
Making a Difference, One Grant at a Time
“The Hanley at Home Fund is about more than just housing—it’s about helping people live independently and with dignity,” said Vicki Hardie, People and Community Engagement Officer at Hanley Economic. “From financial literacy to post-hospital support, these charities are delivering life-changing services. It’s a privilege to help them continue their work.”
The Community Foundation has been instrumental in helping us deliver this programme. Their expertise ensures that funding reaches the organisations that can make the biggest impact.
“This initiative is a shining example of how local businesses can give back in meaningful ways,” said Jo Cooper, Partnerships Manager at the Community Foundation. “The range of organisations supported reflects the diversity of needs in our community, and we’re proud to help facilitate that impact.”
Looking Ahead
Applications for the next round of the Hanley at Home Fund will reopen in 2026, with dates to be confirmed. We encourage any local organisations working to support housing stability, financial education, or independent living to consider applying.
